well, I have made a start yeah, would have been a lot simpler though to use a batch.

We're not all PhotoShop pros you know!

If only this forum offered more help rather than useless comments...

Let's at least try to be civil. I don't know what your deadline is or how important it is, but it can't be worth attacking someone for, or sacrificing one's own dignity for.

If droplets don't work for you, try a batch. Also, when setting up your action, did you actually save a file while recording? If the save is not recorded, it will not be performed by the action. Lastly, if nothing else saves the file, simply remove the 'close file' from the action, and run the batch. True, it will leave 200 images open in photoshop. But if your machine can handle it, you can at least have them there, to be saved manually. If you don't need the source images intact, you shouldn't even need to go through the save as menu - ALT-F-S, and ALT-F-C over and over.

I really don't understand why the save failed, though. Can you give us any information on the nature of the failure? The image just closed up, no messages? What are the details of the 'save' action recorded?

Go to the 'save' action, and hit the arrow on the left to expand it. You should have something like this:

Save
As: NVIDIADDS
With Bar
In D:\Documents and Settings\My Documents\etc
With Copy

Sorry, wasn't attacking, just frustrated at useless comments, especially from guys who have over 6000 posts to their name. I really do appreciate the help that is given from the genuine people on here who have the experience and knowledge.

Thank you Lurkily, I'll give that a try, when I did it last time though it just saved to the same file name over and over, had to cancel the action. was saving to 0001.jpg all the time.

Is there a way of giving each image a unique filename when the batch operates?

Instead of saving to a certain filename, save with 'as a copy' checkboxed. This will save jar.jpg as 'copy of jar.jpg.' If you save it in a different directory, it should not even append 'copy of' to the file.
