Hi, I think I'm pretty computer literate but Photoshop has killed me. So many options! Anyway, I have PS 7.0 and I need to make a logo for my company. I work for a branch of a national company and I have examples of what I need but those examples have other addresses on them. How do I get rid of the other branches' address and put mine in? Thanks in advance for any help, Jon |

We would be much more able to help if you posted an example which has text. Just judging from your post, highlight the area with one of the selection tools and press Delete on your keybord. |

I have the bad habbit of understanding ppl wrong (probably because I'm not English) but here are mine sugestions: -)When the adresses are on an egal background just pick that color with the color-picker and paint them over. -) When it has a more complicated background u should use the Stamp-tool (then u copy a part of the backgorund) Btw, by deleting them it won't give u a good background I guess... but I agree: if we didn't help u yet u better give an image as example... ; I might understand u better then ;) |

Sorry about that...I meant to post the image and then I realized I didn't have it on the computer I thought I did. First of all, how do I attach the picture? I see the Insert Image icon but what do I type in the text box? The image I have is a scan that was sent to me by one of our other branches. What I'd like to do is have a .jpg file of just the yellow sticker. Can I "straighten" it out (ie: make the top, bottom, and sides parallel to the page)? Then, I need to change only the phone number and address information. Would it be easier for me to somehow take the logo, man, machine, and words under the checker board logo off of this .jpg and start a new one? Is that possible? I appreciate any help. Jon |

"You may not post attachments" You will have to upload your image to some "webspace". A lot of people use http://www.photobucket.com/ for this (I use webspace included with my internetconnection). The rest of your questions is rather confusing without seeing the image... |

I suggest you do this: -) Edit--> Transform-->rotate (or CTRL-T) : rotate till everything is "parallel" -) Crop-tool: make a rectangle around the yellow sticker (be sure it totaly is in the rectangle. Then right-click and chose "crop". This way you will delete everything exept the sticker (I suppose you don't need the big white background and the gray rectangle). U might want to rotate again now in case it went not totaly perfect the first time because everything was so big. -) Now you can replace phone and adress: first use "colorpicker" to chose the right yellow, then use brush to paint over the original adress (you can also use a shape of a rectangle to put in stead of the adress). To finish u can type the new information on the right place... I hope I helped u, when there is something else u want to know: just ask :D Greetings from Doody |

Awesome, I got it. Thanks for your help Doody... Now, I'm trying to make the checkerboard and words Hillyard Service Systems into a logo to put on letterhead, website, etc. I know there's an easy way to get rid of the yellow background but how? The word transparent comes to mind but I'm not sure how to do it. Can you help? Thanks, Jon |

To get rid of the yellow background I would use the "magic wand tool" : just click the yellow and u will select all the yellow. U should make sure "contiguous" is not selected in ur options-bar: else u won't select the yellow inside the A ,.. Then u can just press "delete". Greetings, Doody |

Got it. Thanks for all your help. PS is definately an incredible program. If you get a chance take a look at my final product. This will be a sticker that will be placed on floor equipment. How does it look to you? I'd prefer to use a 2"x3" sticker...is there any way to "stretch" the logo at the top of the 2x3 version to make it take up more space? Or do you think it looks okay the way it is? I truly appreciate all your help Doody. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b104/jongot/StickerBufferAdvengerCMax2x3.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b104/jongot/StickerBufferAdvengerCMax3x3.jpg |
