Need Help

ok this is a stupid question but how do u save a picture you made in photoshop as a JPEG or a GIF so u can put it on the web?

2 different ways:

1. File>Save As> dropdown box select jpeg or gif> OK> set quality and settings to your desire
2. File>Save For Web> This is for useful when you have to scale down an image for saving or view the different qualities/ file-size.

but the only option i get is psd or whatever nothing else

Just go to File > Save for Web, and there is a dropdown on the right to choose JPEG or PNG or GIF.

i use photoshop 5.0 is that in that version?

Should be. If not, just do File > Save As. You might have to flatten the file first or something, I can't remember if you had to do that first back then.

don't think you have to, i have 5.5 on my pc at home and i'm pretty sure there's a save for web option on there...course, no idea when the last time i used my pc is... :D
