Something is wrong with my colours, when I click the colour box to change the colour, the spectrumy thing doesn't come up, instead a box with preset colours appears. Also how can I stop the colour management box from appearing when I open a file? Thanks~Matt |

Got the "Only Web Colors" box checked? Over on the right side, select the different buttons (H, S, B; R, G, B; L, a, b) and see how your picker box reacts. If you see a button that says "Picker" that means that you've switched the color-picker over to "Custom" in order to be able to load and select from Pantoneā¢ swatch book colors,(among others). If so. click on the "Picker" button to switch back. Exerimenting and exploring is good and fun! Lots to learn, and don't worry, you won't "break" the application. |

And where would I find this box? I can't seem to find where you are talking about.

Nice beginner's resource there, Shane. But considering it's from a college-level educator, there's a little disorganization in how the info is presented. Could just be that the way I'd present concepts is just different than the way those pages are put together. |

Ahhh...OK. That's the Windows OS color picker, I think (not absolutely sure, as I only use Windows about once a year...if that often). You need to go into your Photoshop preferences---Ā»General...look very near the top of the preference pane. Designate that you want to use the Adobe color-picker. |

Press CTRL + K to get to your preferences, and where it says "Color Picker:" Change it from Windows to Adobe.
