Stupid slicse

Hi, everytime i make a new canvas, they put a slice on it, and i'm not even in imageready or anything. How do I remove this slice? THanks

This has been asked a gazillion times.
Go to view > show > ...and uncheck "slices".

Not really, that hides everything, including your paths / selections...everything but the image. That's not very useful. :p

ok, "useful" was a wrong word, I meant not very smart in that case. If you'd hide all extras just to get rid of the slice-icon in the corner every time you started photoshop, you wouldn't be able to see your paths / selections / anything. Bah, you know what I mean. :o

he he - indeed

and bearing in mind, that slice that Photoshop creates on the canvas is called an 'Auto Slice' and really has no affect until it's 'Promoted'.... yet an eye sore, nonetheless....

Well eye sore yes, but with the slice bordering my work, I can't draw lines at the bottom straight across, that's the one problem I have with the slice being present until I really want it there. Thanks for the help
