I'm new here/to PS (started playing around with it a couple weeks ago) and I'm trying to make a marble ball that looks wet, thus a reflection. I can pretty much get the ball (albeit not extremely realistic) and some what of a reflection idea going on after looking at some reflection tuts, but the reflection just doesn't seem to wrap right or something, it just seems...unnatural . Any specifics on how to wrap a rectangular image reflection on my newbie marble ball? (I hope this is on the right board...? wasn't sure if it was advanced or basic...apologies if I'm in the wrong place/confusing people...) |

Ya, I realised that a bit after I posted, so I've been looking for a site to host my stuff. I found the forum, or one of the forums, that talked about it, and went to one of the sites and signed up, but am yet to receive my confirmation e-mail... t35.com was the hosting site I tried/am trying. I'll put up what I have once I get the confirmation e-mail thingy, or I'll try another site if I don't get it soon, unless anyone has another suggestion for me to do... Thanks for paying attention to me in any case . |

Alrighty, I know it probably doesn't look much like marble, or wet, or reflective, but this is what I've got... here it's different from before, I tried doing stuff with it, I don't think I actually got the reflective idea down, the tuts that I've seen have only been the "make a copy and flip verticle" idea, so it doesn't work so much here, it basically just looks like what I did to it, put a picture behind sphere and played with opacity...Any help on making it more like...a shpere, a marble coloring/texture, wet, and/or reflective would be much appreciated.

bright hilights make things look wet and you can play around with the render > 3d transform filter. or just the spherize filter...

Anyone happen to know how to achieve a better "marble" texture than the one I have (marble as in the stone not the round things you play with...)? Thanks for help .
