Hey I was just wondering how to make text into a semi-circle. Like if I'm trying to make a logo like the US presidencial seals and want text around the outside of a circle. I tried using the warp features but it wouldn't work. tom |

Can't do it in photoshop without a plug-in. search the forum for text on a path to find the other threads that answer this question.

Yes I tried the one that pixelchick pointed out. Didn't work for me but I didn't try for very long. Can you do it in Illustrator at least? I know in Xara X (another vector program) you can "fit text to line". But I couldnæt find this function in Illustrator. tom |

Text on path in Illustrator. Its one of the options on the Text tool. Hold it down and when the other options zoom out you will see it. Create a circle (just the path is all you need.) then click the text bar onto that path, then type....

I dont remember off hand (and I havent looked at the posted tutorial to confirm) but it would seem that for the effect to work your canvas would have to be square to start with. Just a thought. And just a reminder that this is the new to PS help and not new to Illustrator help ;) |
