I would like to know if there is a way to make a cut using the eliptical marquee tool in photoshop that does not produce a jagged edge???anti aliasing is checked already but still the edges are jagged...y? help please...:confused:

turn on antialiasing ? or.. perhaps you could make your selection a bit bigger than what you actually want to remove and then feather it out a couple of px.

Yeah sometimes you have to feather and blur the edges a few times to smoothe them out....

use a layer mask?

try using the vector shape tools filled with your background color?

I do elliptical marquees all the time and they're nice and smooth.

Jan...If you want any conclusive help you need to explain in exact detail all of the settings you're using when this problem occurs. This is not normal behavior.

Big elliptical marquee, stroke selection about 10 pixels, some quick layer effects. Done.
