Hm, pro'bly a spelling error has occured, but I just have to point this out: There is no such thing as Gay-scale in PS, there might be in an all gay bathhouse where persons would like to know what there wieght are :-) W'appens if you take a colored photo and ctrl+shift+U it then go play with the settings in first levels, to lighten it up a bit, then brightness/contrast to "contrast" it up a bit, then colorbalance it a bit, and then finally hue/saturate it a bit if you wanna colorize it some in a romantic purpose.... Just my idea of a B&W pic... |

dude. take your pict.. duplicate it.. put like a 4. gaussian blurr on it.. and then put that picture on "Lighten" and then u get that barbara walters style soft lens action. see with that u can take any pict.. and it looks like is being softned all over.. like this pict.. is clearly nothing pretty to look at.. but soften s.hit up a bit.. and its not so bad.. and stay away from gay photoshop.. well unless thats yer thang.. |

this may be part photo thing, in the dark room when making B/W prints from color negs we use Panalur paper in order to get all the proper tones from the color neg. Sooo in PS in order to do the same thing you cant just click B/W and expect to get proper tones. here is a good starting point to solve problem (Gay or Les. doesnt matter LOL With an open picture go to IMAGE then ADJUST then CHANNEL MIXER then choose a +75 red then a +25 Green (leave blue alone most of the time then check the Monochrome box you can also do it before hand if you wish. you can adjust red and green to get the best tone value but i always start there +75 +25 and when i get to the way i like it i then convert to GRAY SCALE the tone value you picked will be preserved of course. (this is something i have to do everyday at least a 100 times so and action is what i use to get the ball rolling) |
