ok, you say your menus are simple.............here's the deal.

You have

((menu))
3/30 - weblog entry
3/26 - weblog entry
3/22 - weblog entry
3/20 - weblog entry
3/14 - weblog entry
3/07 - weblog entry
3/02 - weblog entry

My first impression was that those weblog entries were part of the menu.
To make it more usable, I would put your menu items under
((menu)), instead of having to click to a separate page.
and put those weblog things (whatever the hell they are) below the menu links.

Here's the problems i see with the "SIMPLE" menu.
(HERS MENU, I GUESS)
So, I click ((menu))
Then, the first thing on the list is "updates".
When I click updates, it takes me right back where I came from.

So, I go to "weblog" next.
Instead of having a nice wide screen of text to easily read, I have to SCROLL a LOT.

"Webcam"
That's good, I would pretty much expect some kind of pop-up window or something.

"Pictures"
I get a pop-up window, AGAIN. But with one picture. So, I click on "US". Still no pictures. I have to decide if i want to pick the page number, or see slide show. So, I click "page numbers". Of course, no pictures yet, just numbers. I'm starting to wonder if there are pictures there, or just infinite links. So, I finally pick "page 1", and get ONE picture. I'm pretty sure this is due to the small popup window not being able to fit more than one picture. So, the "PAGE NUMBER" for the pictures should really be labeled "PICTURE NUMBER". Maybe you could even give them a descriptive name. Maybe people really don't care what you look like with an afro.

Well, I was going to continue with more on the menus, but it just keeps going on and on. The menus are so cumbersome. Maybe they're "easy" to click on, but you have to click to much to get anywhere.

And, besides that, there's another whole menu on the other side, that i dont even want to start on.

So, just work on some of those issues, and everything will be ok.

hotrod, long posts are fine here, please just make one post instead of a bunch of little ones. We have no problem with long posts as long as they are helpful.

Hotrod is being blunt, but his advice is valid, and I don't think he was being rude except for maybe his first post where he said you should trash the design and start over. However, you making personal remarks about his intelligence is rude. If you can't take honest criticism on your web site without taking it personally and flaming people, you shouldn't post the link on a forum asking for opinions.

Hotrod isn't stupid, he just sees some potentially confusing aspects of your site that could easily be improved to make the experience even better.

Only mods are allowed to delete threads and posts, because we don't want people going around deleting everything whever they feel like it.

If you don't like my site, I am perfectly fine with that. However I don't think telling me my site "sucks" is very constructive, which seems to be your problem with everyone else's comments, even though we are giving detailed reasons and solutions to the problems.

But you are making this a personal thing when it doesn't have to be. I admit the "I hope not" comment was uncalled for, and I apologize. But we are giving you some good info and tips, which I think if you listened to us even a little bit, you could improve your site a lot and make it really good.

We don't expect you to completely redesign the site as soon as we comment on something, but you have been very defensive in your previous posts saying that people can read the requirements and they have to use IE at 1280 x 1024 just to visit your site. If you had said "hey that's cool, thanks for the comments I'll take them into consideration when i redesign the site as I get the time" then I don't think there would have been a problem.

But anyway. I'm not going to delete the thread, because we rarely delete threads here, and there is no reason to in this particular case. Just unsubscribe from the thread if you want to stop getting emailed about it.

sorry about the multiple posts. I was trying to point to all the areas that were confusing, or cumbersome to navigate for me, and the message was too long to post. (I guess there's a max of 1,500 characters, or something)
