Does this XDarwin thingy let you run windows app? I mean, what's the point of it, besides being able to run Unix software? No i have OS9.1 at the moment, but i'll be getting OSX. Yes, i knew OSX was based on Unix, but what's this Xdarwin let you do. If it lets you run Windows programs, that would be very cool, and make Windows pretty much pointless..

well i really dont know jack about it, all i know is me and my friend where pins and walk around with potatos in school, its very fun and funny, one of my friends will know more background info, ill find it out for you and cybling boy, it dont let u use windows, XDarwin runs Xwindows on a mac, Xwindows runs from XFree86 and X11, umm and it lets you have another desktop open, you switch between them whenever you want or you can run rootless (rootless means no background buut the windows of th XDarwin run over OSX Aqua like a layer so its faster to use but sometimes clutters, and umm well the benifit of having it means you get all the free linux programs to use, like i use my XDarwin for "The Gimp" which is one of the best art programs around, and its free =) also XDarwin and Xwindows are fun to play with, and REALLY costumizible lets see what else, umm check my desktop image to see what my set up looks like, and thats about it, have fun with it, and OSX is AMAZING you will be happy with it, and umm it will be extremly hard to emulate windows on OSX good, "connectix's" makes a emulator of windows, but it sucks, you cant run windows on a mac easily, there based on 2 diff. totally diff. systems, the reason why "connectix's" emulator is not magnificent is cus it has to emulate the bas system of a mac, it emaultes everything, same thing with mac emu's on a PC. but since OSX is UNIX based they can now easly port OSX to PC, but there is only one catch, DRIVERS!!!!! hahaha, hardware of a PC and software fo a MAC, what a bitch =( but thats the load down |

He could have four... but he just hasn't plugged in another monitor. It's pretty crazy though... It takes quite a while to get the mouse from one side of the 'desktop' to another. I would be happy with 2... but he thinks he needs 3... funny thing is he barely understands dreamweaver and basically no html. i think he still makes sites in netscape composer... but he needs 3 monitors to do that.
