OK let's see if I can apply this world wide. A 1969 HEMI has the same power (OK maybe a LITTLE less) than modern Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Jaguars, Corvettes, Viper - except the HEMI did it over thirty years ago. Granted, all modern cars have better suspension, etc. Therefore the power get used better. If you are to young to remember "Dukes of Hazard" (am I that old!!) . . . Watch Nash Bridges. |

I don't know how old you are RK, but I grew up with Dukes of Hazzard. I watched it ALL the time, and when the show got cancelled, TNT showed re-runs of it every day at 4:00 PM., I think I was in Middle School when they started doing that....that was the coolest thing in the world. Roscoe Peeeeee Coltrain! |

Yeah, it really cheapened the whole D of H experience when they got the new Duke boys. I used to have a little die-cast General Lee (about 1/12 scale (about 18-20" long)), and now that I think of it, I bet it's still sitting in a box in my parent's basement. I'm going to have to call my mom and see if I can get that. It may be worth some cash some day. |

Another confession . . . I have several hundred of those diecast cars. All mopar, some D of H, all worth bucks. You'd be surprised . . . check out ebay sometime. I saw something the other day about growing up in the eighties - talked about smurfs, rave hair spray, y'know stuff like that . . . I'll see if I can find it. We should poll here to see how many people even know what Smurfs are . . . |

Again, Mopar does not produce any cars currently that have a HEMI. If you are referring to the 426 Hemi than you are right - Mopar problably will never produce a car with one. However, they are releasing a new Hemi that is smaller (and F.I) in 2004. But anyways let's see . . . cars than Mopar makes that use a hemi . . . Bill Eliott's Intrepid, Sterling Martin's Intrepid . . . I know I'm being a smart butt! ;) |

no not exactly- an intrepid is a mopar(dodge, chrysler, jeep) car. and it doesnt sound like you mean these cars come STOCK with a hemi, which is what i am talking about. if you did mean that then i guess i misunderstood. edit: i just realized you mean "cars THAT mopar makes", and not "cars OTHER than mopar makes". my mistake, anyways, about the rest of the post- |

...what y'all talking 'bout. Ok, cars I get that much. I wish I could/would learn something 'bout cars, just to be able to fix my own if necessary. And to be able to get into discussions like this with friends who like cars. But, alas, I do not have the knowledge nor the time or real interest to get deep into it. Drivin' a SAAB 9-3 and leavin' the fixin' up to the autoshop...And when friends start talking cars, I start drinkin' beer !! (But I would like my car to run like a Viper, though...!) |
