They stopped calling my house after I got really rude. Here's a couple ways to get back at them:

When they call and start offering their crap interrupt them with "Yeah, but do you have my money?" When they say they don't know what you're talking about say "You don't do yeh? The money you OWE me, and don't go playing stupid, stupid!" That usually gets them really annoyed.

If its a credit card salesman say you're interested, but not sure whether your credit is good enough. Keep mentioning things like the fact that you have had everything (except your phone) repossesed.

Flirt with them. Man to man or woman to woman is best.

Ask how they managed to dial a payphone.

Get really offended at every little thing they say.

Hang up on them.

Talk about something comepletely irrelevant, and boring. (You don't want to get them interested in the conversation)

Ask them what they are doing constantly.

Keep shouting away from the phone like your kid's are tearing each other apart.

Ask them if they know the muffin man.

I've had fun with these.

Very simple way to solve the problem. Use caller id and don't answer the phone from any unknown phone numbers.

Okay well those are intersting ways of getting trying ot get rid of them but the only one that was mentioned that actually woks is the zapper, however they can get around those too.

I know the tricks of the trade as i used to be one. Now that is used to be, I'm not anymore.

Now the fact that you are being called is first of all your own fault for not reading the small print on your credit card applications but this can be easily fixed. Call your credit card company ie GM, First Card, Union Plus, BP, etc. and tell them that you wish to opt out on promotional sales calls. Now I'm not exactly sure about this but I do believe this all can be done over the phone but it could still be a form to fill out. But if you get a ton of calls and I know you do then take the time to get the form and fill it out!!

Secondly, if you chose not stop the problem at the root of the problem then you can go about slowing the calls down this way: When someone should call you and start on their pitch simply ask to speak with their supervisor(and be nice about). When the supe is on tell them that you wish to be placed on their do not call list for both that campaign and for their company ( the actual people who are calling).

Now for all of you who just keep hanging up it doesn't work, they just keep calling. Listen to the first part of the pitch ie(I'm calling (Credit Card) card holders on behalf of (marketing company) and we want to send out blanks as part of product. Then simply say you are not intersted and that you wish to be put on the do not call.

But the thing I can't stress enough is that you MUST be nice otherwise they do get their revenge on you. Acting like a two year old get's you no where.

Oh and never say that it's too late to ba making sales calls, cause they will callyou back on Saturday morning at 9 am.

Oh and they are allowed to call you from 9 am to 9 pm, this is a legal fact.

Anyways just thought you should know.:D

I usually say I don't have any money this week, and at this rate I never will so don't waste your time...

I like the open and honest approach. :D
