omg he's back

at least for a month or so. I am visiting my brother while I go to 3 interviews next week so I have a place to stay and get tapped in. Still don't know what will happen after the interviews if I get one of the positions, but I am hopefull that I will be able to get some type of internet connection back. I can't live without it.

this is perhaps the most hosed up thing EVER.

First, I wake up and go to my interview this am. Interview goes great, no hitches, despite the guy not recieving my resume from the company I work for. So I give him a paper copy. (newbies to the computer world note: always carry a paper copy of your resume to an interview). The guy explains that he will be in touch with me by tomorrow evening to let me know when I can start working. That pretty much says to me "you got the job". I am fairly happy, although the pay comes in just a little higher than the minimum I would like. So I drive back home to Charleston.

I am sitting at my computer, checking email. Phone rings. "Could I speak to Casey please?" Right away, I know that this is either a credit card company or someone looking to hire me. So, reluctantly, I say, "this is him". She starts explaining that she works for CDI, a company that specializes in placing IT Professionals into contract positions. So she explains the job, I tell her that I am considering moving to Columbia anyway and she says "great". So I express my interest in the position, even though I already knew I pretty much have the other job in the bag. So, what is the clencher? What will make me turn down one job for the other? MONEY! She tells me that she can offer me 15 an hour and that they contract is 9 months. I do the math in my head and say "If they want me, I will start wenesday morning." This is the same time I told the other guy I could start working for him.

The job I interviewed for this am was purchasing/support of field technicians for a company called Ikon. They specialize in office solutions for medium/small companies nationwide. The one on the phone was for desktop support of IBM laptops. I am more qualified for the latter.

So, saying that the guy with the lesser paying job calls first and says I can start wenesday am. But 10 minutes later the lady with the 15 dollar an hour job, which I am more qualified for calls and says I can start wenesday. What do I do?

GRRR. 5 months of humping and working my ass off for a job and no replies, only a few interviews. All of a sudden someone reads my resume on monster.com and poof, 2 offers. I hate looking for work. Almost as much as I hate moving.
