Apple just announced it's new iPod mp3 player. It can hold a thousand songs on its hard drive, and is the size of a deck of cards. Just announce like five minutes ago, so there are no pictures or anything yet. I hope it comes in Titanium, so it will match the laptop I hope to get one day... http://news.cnet.com/news/0-1006-200-7627927.html?tag=mn_hd ** UPDATE ** They just launched the site for the iPod... http://www.apple.com/ipod/ 5GB hard drive that doubles as a regular firewire hard drive. 10 hour rechargeable battery. $399 though... But it would match the Powerbook... hm. what to do what to do. |

You definitely won't be able to hook it up to a PC. It runs on Apple iTunes. Just get it over with and buy an Apple computer. |

They said they may make it work with windows 'when they have time'. I wouldn't if i was them though. All of the 'analysts' think it is too expensive. Because the 6GB Nomad is only $250. But it's also huge, heavy, runs on USB instead of Firewire, doesn't have antiskip protection, etc. I'll probably pick it up at the same time I get a Powerbook. Maybe they'll offer a discount or something if you get both. |

See you where? What? It's a hard drive. Just like a little tiny laptop hard drive. And if you hit the thing hard enough, it's going to screw up. So it has 32 megs of Flash memory as a cache so if that does happen, you have like a 20 minute buffer period where it's in the Flash memory. That also means the hard drive doesn't have to spin all the time, which uses a lot more battery power. |

But if you drop it, you've got a whole pile of worries. If you drop that baby, and that reader-arm drops down and scratches one of those plates, you are gonna' be hurtin' unit.

I think if you drop any electronic device you are going to be in trouble.
