sidez, thanks for your response. Kinetik actually clarified it, I'm guessing he's seen what I'm talking about. I don't think it's a third party software I'm looking for, it should be some type of setting, I just don't know where. Kinetik, any idea? Thanks for the help. Cheers! |

Mark wins. It's close to what they use in the store anyway. Ours is modified in some way and has its own installer though. |

sidez I really like that Quicksilver thing man, it's nice. And msz is real close to what I'm looking for, and thanks Deker for confirming it. I just thought there was something I could toy with in the settings. Is there a way to make the stuff change around like a 3D box as well, like in that video Deker showed about Virtual PC? That's what I remember seeing when I first fired up my Powerbook, everything was just spinning, cool stuff. I guess I'll fork out the $4 bucks for the Docktop to have it work. Thanks for the help fellas...it's appreciated greatly. Cheers! |

It is not part of the OS, no amount of setting fiddling would make it work. The 3d spinny effect can be seen when you use Fast User Switching. I use Butler rather than Quicksilver. Like it a lot better. There is also Launchbar as an option but it is not free. |

You can have that 3D cube effect with VirtueDesktops. There's a bunch of other animations available too. Combine that with Slapbook, you can smack your motion sensor enabled notebook silly. Another toy app you can play if you have the apple remote. IAlertU. |

Derek and his freaking Butler. Me, personally, I have tired Quicksilver and I mean, I can see where it is good and all but, I dunno. I personally get things done faster and just and more used to I suppose, Alt + Tabbing applications, Apple + ~idng my windows and using Spotlight to launch my apps. I don't need any fancy doohickey taking up more system resources to make someone that is already pretty damn easy to do just a little bit easier. But maybe that's just me. |

Okay, I have a little problem here now. I cleared some icons from my desktop, and made some folders to store a few things. Then when I shut down or sleep my mac, my hard drive icon keeps moving down to the bottom of the other icons and I have to keep re-positioning it to the top right corner. Why is that man? Is there a way to just pin it up there and make it stay? Thanks for any replies to this...but I'm just wondering why this icon keeps moving. Cheers! |
