yea...AND NEW IMACS TOO!!!! i laugh at the people who jumped to buy the nano and steve-o just released a brand spankin', sleek, sexy 30 gig!!! so...anyone getting one? i would really like an imac...coming w/ mighty mouse and all. those of us here who work at the apple store whilst wearing tall tube socks...should be very, very dissapointed in themselves for not hooking the rest of us up. |

Sorry, but you guys know they don't tell us more than anyone else. I was sitting here refreshing the rumor sites every 30 seconds just like everyone else. Though I will get to see one in person sooner than you guys. So take that.

i was never big on the idea of a video iPod, i'd rather watch stuff at home on my wega. but the idea of selling episodes of Lost is freakin' brilliant. i'm curious how this model could work for film. what i want to know is do the new iPods have any different hardware or is it just a 30gig photo with new software? chris |

The new ipods have a video-out port I believe. So you can watch stuff on your wega, but still have all your videos portable. I'm not sure how the quality will work out though, slightly less than VHS probably with that aspect ratio. |

I don't see the point in anything past a photo ipod personally, for my use at least. The photo for me would be great to offload dig pic to from the camera.

There are A/V cables for the new iPod (and the previous ones) to allow you to display the movies or photos on a TV. But the resolution of the movies is only like 320x240 or so, so it's not going to look incredible, especially on an HDTV. And Dan weren't you all anti-iPod for a while, wanting some big huge thing that had a larger hard disk and played movies and all kind of other crap? Ha! |

That was before I started getting free ipods... Now that I've used one, I see no real point in the A/V stuff. If I wanna watch a DVD, I'll pull out my laptop (PC based at that). |
