Zerimar,

I have a logo that I used for my (sadly departed) blog. I'm not using anymore. If you want it - I'll give you the .ai and you can modify it to suit your needs.

Mihai, that's very generous of you. I'm not sure if I can modify it, as I think I would just mess it up. But I would like to take a look at it to study it and see if I can learn from it.

I actually have two concepts I was working on, which I emailed malibu, but haven't heard from him, I'm sure he's pretty busy. But the ones I have need help with the curves.

I was going to post it here to the forum so others could look at it but I'm not sure if I just need to post it as a regular link or what. But if you could send me the .ai or .eps that would be great. If we use it I'll be sure to give you full credit, maybe we can send you a t-shirt as well.

Thanks for your help and I look forward to hearing from you. By the way, you can email me at zerimar3(at)yahoo(dot)com. Take care and we'll talk soon.

Cheers!

Sorry, Zerimar... I've been out of town and pocket. Hey! I like what mihai's got there!!! Let me know what you want to do to proceed, I won't have my feelings hurt if you want to use Mihai's stuff. No cybling rivalry here... where is cybling btw?

For the record, there is nothing wrong with taking ideas from clip-art, or modifying it. I only object to a design using clipart 'out of the box' as is--without improving or modifying it in some way--and calling it a logo.

I sketched up some stuff combining a comic book character, adding sword and shield, etc. But it's not penned up in illustrator or anywhere near ready to go yet. I was leaning towards a mostly full figured thing, but less is often more with logos. if you want, I can continue to work on this (maybe even adding mihai's helmet to the figure) for a poster or illustration, and you can then use mihai's logo for branding. For the other record, I am NOT an illustrator, hence I'm borrowing from someone's muscular cartoon character for proportions and layout.

If you like any of the above ideas, let me know, and have mihai send me his ai file for the helmet. N'est pas?

Mihai: Please check your email, I had some trouble with the file. I use Illustrator 10 and it didn't want to open, plus I emailed you what I had.

malibu: I really like the ideas you're presenting. A full figured warrior is kinda what we had in mind for the kids. I understand it's time consuming, and I have been putting off showing anything to our director for the kids program, but they want to plaster all of this year's material with the design.

But he's been patiently waiting for something, which is why I turned to TPS for help because I can't seem to get the design right, without messing up, and lack the skills you guys have. If this were a design for web, it might be easier, but for print, I have no clue and in Illustrator I feel like a blind man.

But I think we can combine some things here.

Mihai: If it's okay with you, maybe you can email the .ai file to malibu so he can have a look at is as well. I would really like to study it, but my Illustrator won't open it. Do you have to resave it as Illustrator 10 or .eps file?

Anyhow, you guys are the greatest and I look forward to seeing the ideas come to life. Thanks once again, I owe you guys a big one.

Cheers!

Mihai: if you haven't checked your email, please do so, and thank you for all your help.

Malibu: I emailed you Mihai's logo so you can take a look at it. There are more details in the email.

Thanks to you both for helping me with this, I'm already learning tons just from playing with the logo mihai sent me.

Cheers!

malibu, your work looks great, but it's not really what we had in mind. I feel bad sayin' it man, because I know it takes time, but if it were a full figured drawing, we wanted it more cartoonish. I had a sample of what our director wanted, but man, I must've misplaced it.

When I say cartoonish, I mean comical or funny. Like say Daffy Duck dressed as a soldier.

I scanned this image I had from a children's bible, and the warriors on here is similar to what we were aiming for only as I stated earlier, a bit more comical. But I don't want you to spend time on this, we'll just have to make do with what we have. I went for a more serious looking logo because that's all I could come up with. But believe me, your help is seriously highly appreciated man.

Thanks a ton for helping out and hooking up that design. It's great, but I'm not sure if we'd be able to use it this time around.
