I own all 3 systems, and must admit, Gamecube is my favorite. Though, I am a gigantic Nintendo fanboy. Anyway, between Xbox and PS2 personally I enjoy PS2 more for its vast selection of games. I mean, there aren't many Xbox games that aren't out for PS2, and if they aren't they most likely are or eventually will be out for the PC (or just simply not worth having). I also don't like how you can't use the Xbox DVD drive unless you buy the remote (30 dollars) and PS2 can play DVDs out of the box. And plus, with the slim, super smalll PS2, who wouldn't want one!? So, that is one for PS2. |

really depends what sort of games you like. i actually have a gamecube, mostly because it was cheaper, but i had a ps2 that quit ejecting and my repair efforts didn't go too well i like the ps2 due to the kind of games i'm into, i'm a big fan of adventure-type games like jak and daxter, sly cooper, rachet and clank, etc., and those are all ps2-only. on the other hand there's some cool xbox exclusives like halo/halo2 and the oddworld games. stranger (new oddworld game) does look pretty fantastic. most of the mainstream sports/adventure/etc. games come out for all three platforms tho. anyways, my two cents... chris |

PS2, hands down. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is the reason I haven't really posted here since October. You will NOT get that amount of entertainment for $50 ANYWHERE. I played GTA: Vice City for 2 years until San Andreas came out, and never got bored. That is the only reason I bought a PS2 was for Vice City, and now that San Andreas is out, my wife is nearly ready to divorce me....so on the other hand, maybe a PS2 isn't so good if you value your marriage.

;) Thanks guys. My other buddy said he liked PS2 better as well. I think that is what I will go with. Plus, it did seem like they had more games that my wife would play ;) |

The PS2 does indeed have the most games. Though it also will have the most horrible games, just because there are so many. The new slim ones are pretty sexy though. It also has the most accessories and things. Another thing to consider is modding an Xbox, and then you can use it for a media center... playing movies, music, games, directly off the hard drive. You can install a larger 200gb hard drive, or just stream stuff over your network. It even works with Macs. That's why I was going to get one, but now that the Mac Mini is out I'll probably just use that instead. Especially since it's free. |

I never played anything on a PS2 - or PS1 for that matter. I'd like to get one but...can you guys tell me if it plays divx movies too? I knowit plays dvds ...or...can it play divx movies written on a dvd? I was planning on changing my standalone dvd player for one that plays divx movies... I'd go for a PS2 if it does the trick.. |

I don't believe that they do play DIVX mihai. I'll test for sure between the football games today, but if they do work, I've never heard anyone mention it before.
