Um...virtual desktop? Is that what it's called? Basically a windows emulator for mac. I know it works for many other games, such as GTA. I can't google it, which means I have the wrong name. Anyone else know what I'm talking about? |

Haha, no way could you use Virtual PC to play HL2. You can barely play solitaire with it. Even with a G5.

Do what I would do in this situation - find a friend with HL2 and the comp to run it, and camp out at his house until you beat the game.

You could um...build a cheap PC? I mean, I guess one could be had for about $500-$600, sans monitor. Man, it's times like these that I'm glad I'm not a gamer, because I would without a doubt be scrambling to make my computer the L337 G4M3 R1g, just because I don't like to be half assed when it comes to things I feel strongly about, which apparently gamers feel that strongly about their games.

For the last time, jake, the Xbox version doesn't come out until next year. You can't play it on your freakin' xbox! I'll probably just bring the work computer home for the weekend and play all weekend. Yup. |

Nerdly PC tuning aside, I just bought a cold cathode tube light for purely utilitarian purposes. I'm gonna put it under my desk, where my keyboard is so that I don't have to have my big desklamp on to see the buttons, whereby eliminating glare on my screen, and allowing for more uncompromised computer use. Ok, it's one of the sound activated ones, and my subwoofer is under there as well, so I'm sure that I'll be messing with it from time to time. I also have a blue fan, but my case came with it. Yes, we're all clear on the fact that lights make your computer go faster. Specifically colored ones, and especially blue ones. And that is certainly also why macs suck. Because of the fact that the only lights they have on them are white, and also are not sound activated. ... Ok, I'm done. |
