I think it sounds like a good idea to make a standard image format, but at the start i think it just simply going to be another thing to worry about and another thing for IE to make look like crap... lol.

It has absolutely nothing to do with web browsers. It's for utilizing in programs like Photoshop. I worked with my first RAW file yesterday in fact. It was cool to use in PS CS. I am all for a standard and who better then Adobe to set it? Anything to make archiving digital photos easier is a positive in my book.

I know it really has nothing to do with web broswers, but I just like making IE sound crappier than it really is ;) But yeah, I really think this will be great... espically for photography and basically anything else that requires a high res.

I actually love this idea, but im guessing only a handfull of high end cammaras will have this at the beggining. How long you guys think is going to take? Remmember PNG? and how far has that really come. If this new format is widely accepted than it could be really good for all of you photographers out there.

When do high end companies suddenly get all benefactor on us normally? When theres something in it for them. Adobe hopes to capture a large section of the market by making users convert/switch/stay with Adobe products. It would be like claiming Bill Gates was thinking about internet users when he bundled IE with Windows. |
