first of all here are my specs: amd 2500+XP stock heatsink 512mb of ram ati 9800 pro nothing overclocked temps: 54C (cpu) / 32C (system) checked the fans, all were spinning as normal i updated to directx9.0b(came with doom3) downloaded newest catalyst driver for my card, then i tried the 2nd most recent driver and it was even worse. now for the screenshots: http://www.photodump.com/direct/alpha2cookie/shot00002.jpg http://www.photodump.com/direct/alpha2cookie/shot00003.jpg only thing left i can think of is to a) defrag and b) reinstall windows pm or aim me if you want to see dxdiag thanks! |

Don't know what to tell you man, all I know is that game is eating people's computers alive. One of my friends said he gets 4 FPS, and he's got a nice PC. Sry. :(

If you have radeon you could go to your adi control panel and set it to the default settings or if they're already on default on the performance slider you can try moving it to higher performance or higher quality. Increased anti-aliasing or antiostrophic filtering may help (or decreasing them for that matter). Also keep your ear out for any known performance issues with radeon 9800/9600 series cards and Doom3. It's bound to be buggy. Update drivers toof or the radeon?
