The above notwithstanding,

RandomAww dammit! I missed this post cause I haven't checked the boards since yesterday. Stupid social life.
Ditto

Not to mention work. And in a couple weeks school and work.

Of course Pank gets the last word, but I'll go on ahead and drop my 2 cents in:

Clearly Atomicfog you are, like many of this forum's other users, a student. I won't venture to guess at which point on the educational spectrum you are, as that would likely begin a foray into "I'm *blank*teen years old, and I can talks like a grown up".

Anyway, you're clearly a very forward person, and that's good in some situations. This is not one such situation. In a few months, you may be in a better standing to deliver suggestions, as per an a track record of good suggestions and ideas. You have no such track record, and are off to a poor start.

I'm trying to imagine the context in which you're making what you call these reasonable assertions, namely the timeliness of responses. The time 'limit' quoted previously, though already recanted was pretty unreasonable, because you failed to assert the 'ground rules' under which you intended people to operate while viewing TeamPS. In my experience (admittedly small, compared to senior members) This is a community dedicated, for the most part, to well thought out, and highly topical response to ideas, imagery and questions raised in the various boards. Granted, the Miscellaneous section is the exception, but that's not what the forum exists for. Pank created it for it's help and showcase sections, which I have found to be an extraordinarily useful resource for new ideas, techniques, and suggestions for improvement, in spite of your apparent dislike for the turnaround on thread responses. In most cases, I don't even get a chance to respond to, or review my own thread for as much as a day or more after I post it. I see absolutely nothing wrong with that, given that I have a number of other responsibilities, activities and hobbies to fill my time. The manner in which you were criticizing the timeliness of responses would suggest that you do not. I'll not stoop to flaming and say abruptly say that you should get a life, but if you truly want to be a graphic designer, there are places other than message boards and tutorial sites.

I'd suggest reading a book on design. Any Barnes & Noble, or Borders or B. Dalton has a fine selection, I'm sure. I'd also suggest drawing. Sketching any type of subject matter would be infinitely helpful to learning or honing design skills. If you haven't drawn much, or at all, you may want to take it up. It will only serve to make your skills stronger.

What I'd like to know about all of these requests that you've made of the other members is what this will have to do with the overall quality of response, critique, or advice that you hope to recieve as a member on this forum? If anything, I'd like for a member to not give only his first impression of a work. I'd like for him to look at it perhaps a day later, and give me an idea of it after it's been allowed to sink in. Furthermore, I understand that senior members are in fact active members of the professional design community, one in which deadlines are a constant reality. If one of these members takes time out from their schedule to offer critique, not only should one take notes, one should also be tremendously thankful that they have taken time out from their schedules to do so, and be proud also that your design made enough of an impression upon them as to warrant a reply.

This process may take a day or so. Simply work on something else in the meantime. Of course, help matters are usually something of an against-the-clock race, given that most members, being relatively knowledgable in photoshop, would not post unless they had already tried everything. That can be frustrating, but what can you do?

For lack of anything better to say: If you value the opinions of other members of this forum, you will wait for them. If you do not highly value them, then go elsewhere.

I don't think everyone here wants you to leave, but we're not going to beg you to stay. It's really just up to you. If you don't think that there's anything we can possibly help you on, and you are already unrefutedly the best designer living in the world today, then so be it. But if you are a student still, you will approach the use of this forum as a learning tool. And if school has taught me anything, it is that learning is not immediate.

In all seriousness though, it really couldn't hurt to unplug for a while, and read a book, sketch, even just go for a walk. It's not like photoshop won't be there when you come back. In fact, I've found that finishing a desigin in one sitting isn't really that great of an idea. It helps to walk away from it for a while, get your mind on something else for a minute, then come back and refine it. Trust me, you'll always find something to improve, and if you don't then you're not trying hard enough.

Lol, I have been gone for awhile and I come back, and there is so much junk in here lol. Anyhow, all of your questions and comments can be answered by looking at my past self, I'm tired of saying the same things over and over. I will say this, all I have is good intentions, I didn't post this for people to get mad. Honestly, I thought more people would agree.

That's just the nature of the misc section. Anyways, its just the tone you gave that made people get back at you. Even your title had exclaimation marks as if you were shouting at us.

I'll quote...

I love this site, but I see at least 15 people on all the time, and I respond pretty fast (while putting time and effort into my posts.) I just wish people would say more, and talk faster. No rush, but you should try to make a post every 7 minutes at most, unless you are working in photoshop while on the forum.

You're saying you're posting fast, you're saying other should do the same. Should sounds more like a request like your boss would say. You should work faster.

I do other stuffon the computer besides this forum while waiting, but it sucks having to wait an hour or two for a one or two posts. I just wish people would go a bit faster, since I really like this forum and want to get some communication going. Tell me what you feel about this issue. *Hopes this will speed up posting a bit*

You're critiquing us that we're slow. You said you want to see some communication going. Its the tone you're giving us that makes it all seem negative.
