A new, revolutionary, double sided ink printer. Good luck finding one.

It's called printer duplexing. To print on both sides without flipping the paper over, is called duplexing, and is generally an expensive option for photo inkjets.

Hmm...I never knew there was such a thing. I was just kidding :p I don't think it's practical. I mean, just print out the page and flip it over, then print. 50 pages to print? Easy. Print them all on one side. Take those 50 pages, load them back in, print the back side. |

Infamous, if you are serious about wanting to do this, I have a CP1700d (d is for duplexing)that I will sell you. We don't use it anymore, it just sits on the shelf. We bought an Epson and haven't printed to the HP in a year. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,4710,00.asp Let me know if you are interested. |

Yeah, that's how Xerox does duplexing. The paper goes almost all the way out, then the printer sucks it back in....weird.

If you are using cardstock, the only way to flip it will most likely be print one side in batches, then flip them over by hand then feed them back through. If you are using the drawer trays, the docucolor should be able to do duplex. Given that you are making cd covers, I suspect that you are using paper heavier than 28#, so you will most likely have to use the cardstock tray...which means...flip by hand. This is only from my experience with a DocuColor 12. May be different for you if you have a different printer as some of the xerox docucolors are production printers and will handle duplex printing on cardstock without your help. |
