Just saw a thing on TV - made me laugh in tears.
The government sponsored the Health Ministry to reward female highschool students for good results. And what do they offer?
!.---free entrance cards for discos and bars
!!.--a load of free condoms for each
!!!.-free abortion at state clinics.
In that order!

I mean any of them would be a nice gesture. But all of those together make you think the government is encouraging promiscuous lifestyle for young women.
Gee... I wonder what they were smoking when they passed that decision.

Our current government has a really, really tough time understanding the SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE idea.

They also need to learn the definition of HYPOCRITE.

I'm not too surprised, but I really don't think anyone in this regime would knowingly recognize any kind of birth rights, either pro choice or pro life. Hell, it would cost them votes. It's an election year!

Yes you could seperate State and Church altogether like France and preach religious and ethnic intolerance. Sikhs as part of their religion have to abide by the law of not cutting their hair as part of the 5 K's of their religion, they must also cover their hair, now by French law they cannot use a headcovering - way to go France - very libertarian!

There is much to be said for a seperation from Church and State, but when religious intolerance is one of them, I am not a fan.

Yeah but the French have gone beyond seperation. They are actively persecuting specific groups with stupid laws. The French are generally intolerant as a whole.

uhh - haha No I wasn't talking about the US. Although I'm sure you americans have your own problems with the government. I was talking about my own - the Romanian government....and I employ the term "government" loosely :D

[edit]=
Oh, and I know many of you guys have fights when it comes to your government and some of you like it and some don't and many criticize and many yet defend it....we Romanians are of one mind when it comes to the Government. It's free game! We all hate it. Well maybe not actively hate - that would imply caring.... we just loathe it a lot and like to make fun of it....and invite anyone to do the same - we're really friendly that way haha. I think it's one of the few thinghs we don't fight about.

Well, most highschool students aren't legally aloud in discos and bars that serve alcohol, so please check your facts on that one. Condoms are free at many places ... there are probably one or two organizations in your city that give out free condoms. And abortions ... well I dont really much about the laws, etc. around that.

Romania's legal age is 18. Most kids turn 18 during their last year of highschool or even a year before that. School starts at 7 years here - 12 years until highschool is finished(including elementary and primary) - you do the math... Condoms are not free in Romania. Abortions are legal but they cost a lot for somebody who's not employed. We have little or no medical insurance.

I said I heard the thing on TV - what more could I do to check facts to please you Tom? Maybe a lengthy study? Or are you implying that I am lying?
