You guys have NOOOOO idea do you? I mean what the big boys charge for stuff like that? I guess that sounded a little harsh, I didn't mean it to... The company I worked for Michigan paid IBM over $125,000 to develop their corporate site. No BS. |

really none of you are talking any sense 50+ 125+, guys i know websites are expensibe but most of you are confusing design and actually development and deployment of a "corporate" site. Big corporations have a full time staff for their "corporate web". this is not a one person job neither one company job. I work for the #1 Mergers bank in the world and their site is more like a total aplication solution. We talking intranet, extranet, public site, pluss all their custom apliction work for each departament, a public flash site will not cost 50 grand no way!!! I know all of you might wanna think so but its just not reasonable. sorry.

Yeah true. There is so much to consider when someone asks you to "design a site". We run a average size gaming website, which from the outside looks pretty sleek. The design i can say honestly took no more than 2 days tops. Its the backend coding for the online applications that took the time and effort. 2.5 months in development for the backend before even merging with the design. What im trying to say is that for design of a site without backend coding and management, prices generally would range from $0-5k tops. For design, coding and management the top price can as high as mentioned above. well thats my 2 cents for this month :P

If you re-read his post, he asked, and I quote: He said develop, not design. |

Uhm... why would you care what sites like that cost? Just make your own calculation? Make a workbreakdown structure or something and see how much time everything would take you to do... calculate costs for programs etc. etc. and add everything up and see where you come... And like derek said, don't forget about meetings... travel costs, etc. etc. This really are huuuge projects, and I sure hope you aren't going to do it all alone. And I'm with charm on this one, around 50k would be right. |
