Ok, all i have is just something i was thinking the other nite, im not too much of a coffie drinker, but i do seem to notice alot of Starbucks coffie places around my neighborhood and i saw two starbucks right across the street from each other... i mean im not sure why so many starbucks are open...either im not being told about something or everyone is being addicted to the caffeine...i just thought this might bring up some bored people to talk about something... (like me)

I actually don't mind having that many Starbucks locations around. I mean who cares? Yes, they're doing it to make more money, but they're also making it more convenient for us. If you need a place to talk to someone away from home... there you go! Their coffee is good, so are the desserts. There's a local one here, about 10 minutes away from my house, it's rather nice... especially since I know everyone who works there and can get nice discounts... :D Lewis Black did a really nice "Starbucks across from a Starbucks" piece in his Comedy Central special... in case anyone wants a proffesional comic's view... |

I have one down the block from my house, next to the bookstore I frequent, two on the way to school and at least two when I go buy some manga in Manhattan. I've grown used to it, the only problem I have with the place is that the New York Times gets sold out preeetty quickly. :(

I have two out where I live. My ex works at one of them so that narrows it down to one for me. :(

Give me a locally-owned funky Mom and Pop coffee shop any day of the week over a Starbucks. Better coffee, better prices, better atmosphere, better entertainment. Just...better. |

They have 2 already, and I think they bought the 3rd building.... |

Yeah I kinda agree with Utopian too, I find the big boys all a little generic, I don't really care to be served by a young girl wearing jeans and a company t-shirt two sizes too small, I don't want to have to buy into "the concept" or have a choclate logo shaked onto the top of my coffee, nor do I wish to be forced to speak in tongues, ordering ever more exotic concotions. I also have a hankering for greasy spoon cafes (probably a UK thing) |
