You should also stop generalizing. Just because some weirdos likes to see people gettin' hit by trains and whatever, that doesn't mean everyone has that same disgusting obsession with death and mayhem. Just because some people wants to see it, doesn't make it right. And yes, I've noticed it on the news and it always pisses me off. A couple of years ago we had a terrible bus accident here in Copenhagen. A bus went under a bridge, a very low brigde. Alot of people died, while others were trapped with metal pierced through their bodies. The paparazzis arrived before the help, and what did they do??? Take a wild guess. I hate those bastards! It should be illegal.

Maybe it's wrong - but the fact is most people have a compulsion to look at such things..it's the same thing that pushes us to scratch a scab... or prod a loose tooth with the tongue...even if it hurts a little... Disasters are some of the most popular events audience-wise. Personally, I think that as long as you keep the picture for yourself you haven't done anything wrong - I mean you photographed what you already saw - there's no evil behind that. If you try to profit from it - then...yeah it's wrong - you're not a papparazzo (I hope)

What a great thread! This is gonna be a hot one! My opinion: If you could have helped the lady out - you should have. If she's taken care of as best as possible, sure, shoot it. I have no problem with that, personally. the morality thing is - what to do with it afterwards. It's totally your call. Is Karma gonna kick your ass for it later? Quite possible. |

I agre with this, The survival of one individual is a lot more more important than a f%$& photo! Yhea in the news you got picture of accidents... but you either see it after the person was saved or dead in some sad case... in osmw xase while secourist are trying to get the parson out... In Canada you could have face legal action for not helping someone in distress... Well those asshole would be in grea trouble if they would do this in Canada... |

Well those asshole would be in grea trouble if they would do this in Canada...[/QUOTE] Same here, but there was nothing they could do. If they tried, they would only make things worse. They could have talked to the victims, and try to calm them down. I learned that if you can't do nothing, you call for help and try some psychological crap on the victims. These paparazzis knew that help was on it's way, and decided to put their nasty little cameras in the faces of people who are about to die, or in incredible pain. That alone is a terrible thing to do, but when they sell the pictures to tabloids later on... oh man, give me a baseball bat, a camera and 5 minutes alone with these guys... |

I would have said "f*ck the camera" and gone to help her. No offence but getting a picture instead of going to help her is an ass thing to do.

Reporters take photos for a living. They capture shockvaluable stuff, sell it, and provide their families with that money. It may come off as an immoral profession, but someone's going to do it anyway. We all want to know what's happening etc etc. Personally I don't think taking a shot is wrong. As said, it's all about what you do with it afterwards. I'd see putting it on the 'net as an immoral thing to do though...probably illegal too. I sure wouldn't appreciate shots of my dead/wounded mother/sister/friend/whatever being shown on the internet for no reason and without permission. |

But selling the picture thats your property, i mean its not against the law to take pictures, the moral issue is what gets me but all things have their dark side. |
