I have a blender too!!! It is even a special smoothie blender with a spout on the front to poor out your smoothie right into the cup! You don't have to take the lid off and dump it in manually or anything. It just squirts right out like one of those orange Igloo drink containers that they have at construction sites... Yup. Or the things they put Iced Tea in at restaurants.

Have you seen Enemy of the State?

Maybe you too can have a special, stress-reducing relationship with your blender!

I did alright this year. Here's the whole list:

-DVD/VCR Combo

-2 dress shirts and a tie

-FYE Gift Certificate

-The Animatrix (Hell yes)

-Grayscale Prismacolor markers (20% - 80% + Black)

-3 Fine point black pens

- Adidas Aftershave, some cologne & Shave lotion

-A new sketchbook

-A Shiny new black fleece hoodie

Yeah, nothing really cool, technology-wise, but given that I still don't have a computer, there's really no particularly practical way for me to have something like an iPod, or a digital camera, although they were on my list originally.

Also, just for the sake of ranting, note the following:

My family has, for the last few years, chosen names out of a hat, so that rather than buy a small thing for everyone, they can get one bigger thing for one person. Now, immeidate family still gets each other presents, so that went ok. The stuff on the list above came from them. Now, immediate family exchanged gifts in the morning, so then when we went to the home of some of my extended family, where everyone was congregating. So, fully expecting to get something particularly good, I arrive there, we all have dinner, sit around, laugh, have a generally good time. So finally, we exchange gifts. The little kids in my family get theirs first typically, but this year, the adults did theirs first, just because the kids were all in another room attacking each other, or something, So, every one passes theirs around, and, you guessed it, the person who drew my name DIDN'T GET ME ANYTHING. Now, assuming that perhaps by some snafu, it got left in their car, or at their house. So, expecting to immediately hear something to that effect, I didn't say anything. So, everyone's done, the kids open their presents and...nothing. Everyone has desert. Still nothing. Finally, my mom and I get ready to leave, and on the way out, the person says We gotta talk, in a manner suggestive of the fact that they did not in fact get anything. Now, I'm fully aware that christmas isn't about getting, but this year, I was particularly low on funds, and still got everyone who I had to get a present for, something they either asked for, and/or definitely wanted. Also, I've historically been close with this family member, which kind of made it that much more annoying/disappointing. It was the type of thing that you are mad about, but can't really yell at anyone over.

But, I got 3 things I wanted, the DVD player, the markers, and The Animatrix. The markers are, of course, for concept illustration, which I will be doing a ton more of now.

PS. The Animatrix is freakin' AMAZING. Go watch it NOW.

They said sarcastically, "We need to talk, about serious gift-giving".

What the hell does that mean?
