a graphic artist working on the ad had left his desk for a moment, and a co-worker with the initials C.C. changed the text on the ad.

The graphic artist didn't notice the change and the ad went to print.

That's weird that they didn't catch that during the press check.

You know, mistakes happen in the workplace, but with the amount of copy edits any of my work gets, I am insanely surprised that wasn't caught. Especially with how big the type is. Everything goes through at least 5 people with both my jobs. All I can say is, WOW.

One thing I noticed is the bigger the type - the less amount of time a "clear head" spends checking it out. Something like this happened in a newspaper here - the natural circuit of the paper in an editing house takes the template from the guy who fills the text in (with the author by his side if possible) to the photo editor - usually the author - or the guy who fills in text in the template leaves a message on it for the photo editor regarding the photo. The photoeditor then adds the photo and (usually) deteletes the message. But one day I saw a pic of a footbal star and beneath, in bold letters (fu...ing pic of "name of the football guy")

maybe the press people thought that was the way it should be? I mean, if the add people dont have their own press section they might use another company for the printing?
