Why would it survive a drop? I wouldn't expect any electronic device to survive a drop... They aren't basketballs... Gees. Hm... I've heard the Powerbooks can only survive one drop, I better not get one, since I plan on dropping it regularly! ;) I have the 10gb iPod... 1110 songs. I don't use the calendar and stuff yet 'cause I only have a PC. Monday I will have a Mac though, and I will add all that other stuff! Hooray!! |

I went with the 20GB Archos (2 models ago). It performs flawlessly, but is too bulky. I'm thinking about upgrading to the latest Archos pretty soon. You can store Divx files (movies) on it and watch them either on the built in 3.8" color LCD or on a TV. It's also a digital camera, camcorder, voice recorder, data storage, FM radio, and of course MP3 player. This isn't an advertisement (well, not a paid one anyways), I just really like their products. Here's a link to the latest model: http://www.archos.com/products/av300_series.html?sid=j22oyyyob2s2s2kb44f2j4 |

That actually looks like a good buy. I think it does look a little too bulky though. I think the only reason I’d maybe buy that over an iPod is maybe because of its ability to play movies. That’s about it though.

Yeah, don't go jogging with it or you'll be buying a new one. I was actually thinking of buying a used 5 or 10 GB iPod from ebay just for that purpose. |

You can use the MP3 features of the iPod on the PC, and the notes features, but not the calendar and address book to my knowledge, as those sync with Address Book and iCal on the Mac. There may be a way around that that I don't know of, but it doesn't ship with that ability for the PC anyway.

Really? I thought there would be some kind of shareware or something for the PC people. I bet there will be something like that shortly. Hey Deker, when you get the Calendar thing going next week, I just found a thing on Apple's iCal section of their website that you can "subscribe" to other people's Calendar's, in addition to your own - I immediately hooked up with the Avalanche & Broncos schedules, but there's a ton of 'em for other stuff. Very cool! Oh, and for you iPod droppers - I highly recommend the accessories for them - although they rip you off, moneywise, try eBay, maybe... I have the belt clip thingy - but there are a few other good ones, too. A rubber skin might help it survive a drop ??? I hope I never find out! |

Graphicsguy, are you referring to http://icalshare.com/ or something else? Yeah I can't wait to get that all setup. I don't have much going on in my own life to put in a calendar, but i can use it for tv schedules and all that other stuff! |

I hope all of your songs are purchased from the Apple store or ripped off of an original CD, only ripped once might I add, for personal, non-profit use. *looks around for RIAA* |
