Honestly I don't know and that wasn't directed at anyone specifically. But someone would have.

Well, if I wrote it again that would defeat the purpose of me editing my old post.

And it wasn't directed at you.

Sharif

I got to this thread here and I've seen much of your other posts. It's cool, you're new to Photoshop and you're asking questions.

But allow me to share something. When I came to Photoshop, I had no clue about anything man. I was using some cheezy program called Serif Draw (and you all can laugh if you want to). Then a friend of mine gave me PS7 as a gift.

I started checking out all kinds of stuff. I had emailed pank to purchase a skin for a site that I was working on, which Marble also helped me out with in understanding all the code stuff.

In a way I feel indebted to these guys for helping out. But I got my butt down and dedicated some time to doing this stuff, because all I know is I like it.

Well I started selling at online auctions. So I wanted my ads to be the best. Now, after about 6-8 months, I went ahead and offered my services.

Click here to see what I'm talking about.

I'm not the best, but I'm better than some out there and I don't normally show my stuff here on TPS cuz these guys are bad to the bone. I'm a small fry. On these designs I only used about two images from other sites for which I got permission. All of the work is mine...all mine.

I'm not showing this to sell, I'm not selling here, but it's what I have to show for now. I just listed about 4 days ago and I have been getting orders like crazy, and people requesting logos and web sites.

Now pank is the man, no doubt, genuine spirit and attitude. But when you're a leader, you are who you are with a thousand people, and you are who you are when you're alone. You need to put yourself into your work, it's who you are.

So take it from me, if I can do this, you can too. Take some time to do your thing. I admire pank, but I'm not pank, I'm zerimar3 and I do what zerimar3 can do and I look for other avenues and keep my options open.

A simple word of wisdom man...hope this encourages you in some way.

Cheers,

Zerimar3

Sharif:

You should visit www.good-tutorials.com as they have a vast amount of tutorials and lead you to so many sites. Just type in what you're looking for and you'll get pages of stuff.

Hope this helps you out...cheers!

Well I'm really looking to learn how to make websites that look futuristic. One of my favorite sites are www.2advanced.com, not the flash part, but the graphics in general, and also the graphic on www.pankpages.com...

Sharif, seriously, you need to start with the basics. You can't create something like 2advanced if you don't even understand the gradient tool. Stop posting dozens of threads in the help forums, and actually try to follow some of the tutorials that people have given you links to. We can't make you a good designer, only you can do that, with lots of time, patience, and experience. We're giving you tons of links to tutorials and lots of suggestions, but you just keep posting the same questions on how to duplicate the exact same effects, after we've already explained it to you several times. You need to just practice, not keep asking the same thing over and over hoping someone will somehow give you a magic link that will turn you into a world-class designer. Be content with the basics. You're not going to make 2advanced quality stuff in a month, or even a year, or even several years most likely. It takes a whole lot of experience and practice to reach that level, and there is really no magic shortcut to get there.

We've given you enough links and resources to keep you busy practicing for months, but instead of reading them and practicing, you keep coming back asking the same questions, which is getting pretty annoying. We've done what we can, now it's up to you to practice and make yourself better.
