http://1and1.com

Better get it quickly. I just signed up and am waiting for the reply email to login and verify the account. They sound 100% legit. Didn't ask for any credit info or anything. Just contact info.

They don't take any billing info.

I just signed up. It's legit. 1 database with max 100 megs space. There are restrictions on database usage that taxes the db server. 500 megs of hd space. Apache/php4/mySQL server.

It's called a "Limited Time Promotional Offer", not a scam.

I signed up.

It seems legit, and I mean, there's no billing info required at the time of sign up.

I'm definitely in.

Marble this could be a hasty decsion, I just read the term of condition and here:

1. FEES; PAYMENT OF FEES

1.1. Fees

1.1.1. The following fee provisions and the provisions regarding payment of fees hereunder are not applicable waived to the extent that the 1&1 Services are covered by 1&1's pre-launch special promotion, under which there is no set up fee and the monthly fees are waived for a period of 36 months. In that case, the fee and payment provisions will apply beginning with the end of the 36 month promotion period.

You got to pay after 36 month so it's not really free unless there's some way you can withdraw within the period or something.

From what I read (somewhere) that there's no commitment agreement. You do get it free for only 3 years but at the end of that time you have the option to move to one of their paid services.

Edit:

Under the Promotinal FAQ:

What are the obligations and commitments? Can I cancel anytime?
There are no obligations. You may cancel your account anytime. Unless you want to register domain names or you wish to add additional services, we even won’t ask you for a credit card.

I read it somewhere else on the site too.
