Yeah, they used my school as a triage center, but mostly as a rest station for rescue workers. After a while, they moved in mobile shelters so they gave it back, but it took like a month to scrub the place down for plexiglass, asbestos and other fibers. National Guard still used the school as a rest stop. It was quite uneasy coming back to the building after a month. Smoke, smell, and emotions still remained stained into the asphalt for another month or so.

I'm in Hawaii so it happened around 4am and since there were still planes that weren't grounded yet and I live in an important place to the US everybody was instructed to stay home for the day. It was really trippy because there were like three or four planes still comming in and Bush ordered some high-tech air force planes out there to guide the planes in and shoot them down if they went off course.

We had just gotten home and turned on the tv to put some cartoons on for the children.

It just happened to be sitting on the BBC channel, I like others thought it was some movie at first. I just stood there staring at it.

That is when the second plane hit, I could not believe my eyes. I had a few moments of denial then I just watched the horrors unfold...

I was at work at my old job in a trucking company. someone coming from the cafeteria said that a plane had hit the WTC. We all thought it was an accident or something, until the second one hit. then a couple hundred people flocked to the cafeteria to watch, and the rest tried to find a news site that wasn't being flooded to find more info. we brought a radio into our cubicle (i shared a large cubicle with two other people) and listened for the rest of the day. On my lunch break I went to the gas station to fill up before everyone flocked to the stations.

in the following weeks we were given a list of possible terrorists that might be applying for work at our company, or already employed there and told to keep an eye out for them.

we also started wearing gloves to open the mail during the anthrax attacks.

I was on my way to work that morning, and I heard a news report that a plane had hit the World Trade Centers. I didn't think anything of it at the time, assuming it was just a Cessna or similar. It wasn't about until an hour later that I was at a client's job site, and they were all watching TV in the conference room. I saw what I think was live video of the 1st and 2nd towers falling, but I can't exactly remember. We sat and watched CNN for I think 3 hours. This was at a government building, so everyone there was all paranoid that they might attack our county courthouse. It was an uncomfortable situation, and I really didn't want to work after hearing the news anyways, so I went back to the office for the rest of the day.
