there is always a ton of oppenions on theese matters and im getting sick of turning on the TV and listening how they, in the news and all, is trying to cover all the **** about 'our goverments reasons to join this war, and WHY oh why did they do it'.. when the war started the media was on the other freakin side.. they were all hushed up about 'WHEN does it start, and all that crap' im with paavo, again... i think he points out the most vital things for me getting sick of this war.. Its sickening how the news/media is theese days.. f.ex. here i Denmark some cop shot a 17 year old robber 3 years ago because he felt threathened by the gang who robbed the store/market.. i STILL here about that from time to time.. For gods sake.. YES there ARE psychos out there, but the cop did it in self defence.. they have had 3 years to figure that out.. isnt it enough that the cop has to live with shooting the kid?? Noonoo, drag the dude into court still and keep on making headlines.. Sorry that was off topic.. Frankly this war should never have existed.. All we hear before, an under, the war was to engage and conqueer.. now its all, WHY did you do it you silly goverment.. And yes.. Who was the resources to rebuild Iraq.. well i know USA isnt the only one.. I know some other countries have some work to do in the rebuilding process but after what ive head America IS the one taking on most of the work/profit.. I dont know about all this.. its hard saying something based on the facts i know, compared to what someone else might have had.. all theese oppenions i have are based on what I know... i dont hope i offended anyone.. |

Okay...the war is justifiable for one reason. forget the oil, sadaam is a bad guy, and other ridiculous reasons. the REAL reason is simple--the united states needed to prove a point. the usa might be far from perfect, but many middle eastern and other foreign countries are much much further. the world is going mad these days. as much as i hate to bring up the overgrilled 9/11 example, i must. the us needed to make a strong point that they ARE the strongest country in the world and they will not tolerate the tyrantical values and beliefs of many middle eastern countries. it has nothing to do with particularily sadaam or iraq, bush could have battled any of the corrupt countries. the country didnt matter, its the point of power that the us was in search of. thats all the war was about...power. so much more could be discussed, but the bottom line is that the us felt as if theyre reputation as the "strongest country in the world" was fading and middle eastern countries were getting out of control with their cruel values/customs.

You guys are forgetting a crucial point: 9/11. Only spilt brought it up. Think about it. Bush has reasons for attacking Iraq, be they noble or corrupt, for "freedom" or for capital gain. But he is of course not gonna come right out saying his real reasons. So what happened? Well, there's a news article now that describes the discovery that the documents proving that Iraq was buying uranium and that sort of thing were forged. http://edition.cnn.com/2003/ALLPOLITICS/07/08/sprj.irq.uranium/index.html But you have to understand that a democracy is based on its people and if they don't have the people's consent then they can't do it. (Of course this rule is very often bent and even more often broken.) but after 9/11 everyone's vision and opinion was clouded. They all were just angry and were more than happy to blame the whole ordeal on saddam. A majority of Americans won't even differentiate, they'll just say "Osama, saddam, what's the difference, they're all terrorists." another thing is that there's no such thing as a straight government. Ideally and theoretically there can be such a thing, but practically there can't. Ther'es always gonna be some form of corruption and that is due to human nature. We are greedy by nature, and when we are given power we tend to want to abuse it. It's happened before, it will happen again. History only repeats itself. |
