We just bought the most awesome color laser printer...
http://www.pcworld.com/reviews/article/0,aid,101903,00.asp

Check this baby out...I'm so friggin excited...for the first time in my life I have a printer that can print actual COLORS, and this one at that.

Also...we're getting a 22 inch Lacie moniter! And I'm getting a new computer, and sometime an intuos2 6x8.

Ok so maybe this is lame, but shutup because I'm excited...:D .

A fusion printer, what is that, never heard of it... I have a laser at home, but its broke...sort of, I can't put more than 1 piece of paper in the feeder otherwise it'll suckin all the papers and get jammed :( . It would be able to print really fast if I could load a bunch of paper in the feeder at once, but alas me and my mom's feeble attempts to fix it have failed, but I'll live. I want a color laser though (unless this fusion stuff sounds better to me, I'll have to investigate ). My current one is just b/w, my dad has the color printers in the house, but they're ink (he's got a standard one and a big epson for glossy photos and big stock paper type stuff). Maybe when I go to college this fall I'll get a nice new printer though .

Don't get it from freeprinters, whatever you do. the printer being "free" is BS. you have a monthly 225 dollar committment for two years...that's a big investment. again, 5400 dollars. You'd be better off buying the printer from xerox directly, at least that way it's yours...

As far as this "fusion" technology, according to what I've read, it's pretty much thermal wax. That's not a very new technology, it's been around, and it's generally not as good as laser. It might produce shiny colors, which are always used to impress suckers. Anyways, shiny bright colors don't make a good printer...it's all in the detail. And a good laser can do those shiny bright colors just as well. In any case, don't buy into the hype, of course xerox and this freeprinters place is going to tell you it's better-they'd be stupid not to. Research is the most important part...otherwise you might be stuck with a lump of crap. though if you buy from freeprinters, not only are stuck with a lump of crap, but you have a 2 year long committment for 5400...

Anyhow, I've never seen the printer myself, who knows, could be better. Just resist all the hype...do your homework. thank you and goodnight.

Yeah Deker, we have the same printer. If you are the first one in the morning to print, be prepared to wait at least 10 minutes for the following screens.

"WARMING UP" (displays for at least 5 minutes)
"CALIBRATING" (displays for another 5 minutes)

I don't know how it could possibly take that long. I thought something was wrong with it, so I posted a message on the HP Printer message boards, and that's just how they are. Apparently the new series printers are even worse. Our fix at work was to turn off sleep mode, and to never turn the darn thing off.
