Opera - Table Valign?

Yeah if you have spy ware "accidently" installed you will have things targeting your computer, but your browser isnt going to install any software without you hitting ok. Now IE and pop ups are bad - I will definitely agree. If this were the case it would have had a patch a long time ago because the security threat would be beyond critical. It would be a hackers dream.
I am not sure what you are talking about with pop ups searching your tool bar, but beyond annoying (and with all those companies like Gator - always prompting you to accidently hit "ok") popups are not going to install applications on your computer. You can have something prompt you to install (like Flash Plug In eg.) and there is a check box that says "always trust ****" If you ever check that, then yes stuff will be installed by that company automatically, but that is if you check that box.
