Alienware has a new web site and a super slick new case design. By far the best looking PC case I have ever seen. Functional too with the 4 front USB ports and cable management. Alienware has got to be pulling in some cash... Anyone know how well they are doing? www.alienware.com |

Unfortunately Alienware is a private company, so they don't have to give out earnings reports. Although I can't imagine they are doing badly. I think they are selling Alienware at Best Buy now...or they at least have cases that look like Alienware's Dragon-style ones. Of course it's been at least 2 months since I've been to Best Buy, so my memory could be faltering. But about those new cases: WOW! I want the Majestic Blue one. I'd want to put that in my living room it's so beautiful...place it over the mantle...and get another one to actually use. |

Alienware sucks ass. Don't but their computers. It's a complete ripoff. You can build a better system than theirs for less amount of money. Alienware sucks ass.

Lol! They basically have the Dell idea in mind. Buy the high end stuff - build it for you - then sell it with a high profit in mind. A guy that sits next to me in class does the same thing, but on a local scale. He can sell a super charged pc for around $4 grand CA. (I think he has sold about 6 so far Lol---) The only special thing about Alienware computers are their cases. The rest of the stuff is what you can buy in any computer store and assemble yourself - with a little research in any settings and tweaks. But Malevolent is right - You would be wasting your money buying one of their pc's unless you have lots of cash to spend. But their site does look nice. =) |

i dont know how you can say they suck ass... you are basically just going off the price that makes them sucky, but hey ferraris are 300,000 bucks but they dont suck. and no i dont own one, or have before, i built my own pc. |

You hardcore PC guys amaze me. All that matters to you guys is "look how cheaply I can build a PC that is relatively fast with parts bought from 50 different places online". Bunch of closed-minded cheapskates... And yes, mattboy, they do sell Alienware PC's at all Best Buys now. They just have a demo unit, then you can choose a build to order machine there in the store and I guess they ship it to you or ship it to best buy and you pick it up there. |

Has anybody here actually ever bought or used an Alienware? Just curious if they are really good. From the parts they should be but I'd love to hear from somebody that actually has one...

Ok, yes, they get good reviews because they are the fastest retail PCs. I'm not against letting another company build you a computer, just not Alienware. Some other better custom pc places: http://www.gmachines.com/ not to be confused with Emachines. http://www.falcon-nw.com/ first ever online custom pc place, I think. http://www.tantuscomputers.com/ meh, decent. However, Alienware still sucks because they rip you off. There is basically no reason why you should be paying that much. |

Deker I know we are knuckleheads, but.... seriously, their cases are real cool, but how much do you want to pay for a nice case? $350 Vid Card $300 Lots of Ram $300 Mobo $400 Chip $100 Acc. $150 Case. $300 Drives. That is $1900 and I am totally estimating off the top of my head. So where does the other $1000 go for Alienware? The name. (and their pocket books.) And you wouldnt need to go to 50 places. one shop would do just fine, unless they didnt have something you wanted, then 2. |
