no, but if its a graphic software upgrade it sure will. you used illustrator 10? :D

make sure they've updated if its illustrator 10, the initial version had some network saving issues that we've experienced here. if you can afford it, i'd look at buying a firewire drive or something and keeping it with you to download your files to, heck of a lot faster than using the network.

You're not allowed to bring like an ibook to work and do your stuff on that?

they said I could bring in my old G3, but I think it would only complicate things further. I'm at a loss, really don't think I'll be here very long, so I'm not going to uproot my home graphics station to bring into a sinking ship, ya know?

anybody need some commercial graphics? I'm almost ready to try the fulltime freelance thing.

Well, kids, quit feeling sorry for yourselves, and feel sorry for graphicsguy instead. Here's my past week as a 'Professional Graphic Designer':

Monday- I get an insane rush assignment to print 16 super bowl banners 20 ft long - I need to design them, print them, and have them cut by Friday's delivery date. We order material - exact amount - no scrap. (translation: no screw-ups)

Tuesday- designs are done, they look nice - Vector, nice custom text, the whole 9 yards. Material arrives, printing is all set. I'm skeptical and nervous. I don't think it can be done with the equipment I've got. We run a test print on paper. Printer pukes out, purges 20 feet of paper on the dirty floor, ruining it. Now, I'm really nervous.

Wednesday- Tech guy comes in to rebuild RIP station-slash-design station. Yay! I'm now on Win XP with no software and no clue how to use it- or, if it will even work. It's the least of my problems at that point. I have stuff to print!

Thursday- I get 6 banners printed and machine craps out again. Spend all day downloading and updating firmware on HP5000 and Onyx PosterShop RIP software. (I hate that crap- I'm an art geek, WTF am I doing IT crap for?!) I need to wait another day for the tech guy to come back with a replacement system...

let's say this: I've cancelled my friday night and saturday plans and I've already made plans at the Pub tonight. Only Hockey and Beer can fix this funk I'm in. Grumble, grumble...
