while these debates are fun, i really don't see the huge advantages/uptime from the mac to the pc. i use an 867 G4 at work and have an 800mhz athlon at home and they're comprable in terms of speed and performance. my mac at work crashes sometimes as does my pc, tho win2k is pretty rock solid. gg's argument about "fixing" pc's is interesting but i don't quite see it the same way. if i have a hardware problem with my pc then yes, i need to take it apart and fix it. however, if i have a hardware problem with the mac i'm screwed because you can't just take it apart or replace parts, you need a tech to fix it. i will give apple the nod when it comes to plug-and-play/video/cameras, you truely can just plug a device into firewire or usb and run with a mac, on a pc you're in for a major pain to do the same operation. chris |

Are you sure Apple isnt paying you? Jking =) The problem with pc's is the market varies so drastically. You can buy a fujitsu hard drive have it die in a year and blame pc's, but if you would have bought that western digital one it'd be running for years. Im not a mac person, but how many options are there when you buy your mac? I mean do you have 5 different motherboard companies to choose from? or 10 different hard drive manufacturers? You know what I mean? I just hear a lot of complaints from mac users about pc's and how better they are (not all of you, just the annoying ones! hehe.) I have nothing against macs. I think they are great. Expensive, but great. I wish I could afford one right now. and have both platforms running. |

Marble...read again what I wrote before. I have never had a hardware failure, nor a software glitch I couldn't solve within 1 day. Say that sentence outloud to yourself...does it ring true for you? I'm not kidding, and I use my Macs HARD. |

yeah... =) My pc's have worked great.... But if you read what I am trying to say.... Did you assemble your mac? or did you buy it built from a mac dealer? The other thing is was it a Dell Mac, or a Compaq mac, or a Local store built mac (from parts they chose)? You see what I mean? If all pc's were built with the best components and sold at higher costs, we'd have fewer troubles with pc's. But a lot stores and companies rely on affordablility and cost saving measures to make more money and provide a product to the average buyer.
