Javascript is not the answer to solving compatibility problems. It usually causes more problems than it solves. Just worry about coding to standards, www.w3c.org, and your sites will work with most of the new browsers.

The w3c doesn't have authority over microsoft or any other company. They don't own the internet either, so they can't force anyone to do anything. They just make recommendations of standards, and if every company were to follow them, then theoretically, your site would look the same in every browser.

well i personally think it would be nice if my site looked the same in every browser and i realized they didnt have control i just wished they did because because trying to cooperate with two or three browsers... its well... above me and i wont be worrying about it for a while until i can figure out exactly what i can and cant to and then how to do it. For now i will just stick to the latest versions of IE
