im not sure if this is the right section for this but.....
how would i be able to host myself and others???

you would need to buy some server programs and then then a empty computer and a active connection to the internet always....
thats about it but i dont know the details and no this is not the right section

BUY server programs...sheesh, i don't think anyone's stupid enough to actually BUY one when you can get a perfectly legit version for free at www.apache.org :D

anyway, get apache, set it up, then get somekind of DNS redirection to redirect to your IP and that's all you need to host. if you want PHP, Perl (not sure if it automatically comes with Apache), or any of server side language support, you need to download the files and install. i've got a great tutorial on how to setup Apache and PHP4.

Ways to get hosted :

1) Get webspace. Paying for webspace is most prefered. Get your site on a reputable host like mine :p

2) Lease a server - www.fastservers.net - Doubt you can go lease and admin one. With that you can sell out webspace, again lots of time needed here. Experience needed.

After you've done that, you can put your website up and host others. I do that by giving out subdomains.

Depends. If you have customers, you'll earn more. Support is important. As well as uptime and speed.
