Wow, this is easiest way to turn a photo into a sketch. I looked around for an effect like this but it always turned out not looking like an sketch. Thank you so much for posting this. You're the best.

This was a really good tutorial. I used it for one of my daughter's photos. I was playing around with it, and discovered that you can also achieve a cool colored pencil effect if you activate the original layer and deactivate the inverted layer.
Try it out.

Hello , i want to know how thay have do this. It's was à real picture at first.
At first they have filmed in reality and after they have made a traitment like photoshop.

more involved than that, those are actually drawn over by animators:

you could probably create a similar look in photoshop though, playing with posterize to start.

If you wanted to make this sketch more like a cartoon would there be any options, i messed with the color balance and tried to make it appear blue, but the look we are going for is more of a sketched cartoon. . . .from an orginal photo. . ..
