Maya 4

I need just basic maya 4 tuts. BASIC

I tryed and all I could find is more advanced stuff.

The Alias/Wavefront site has a bunch of really good beginner tutorials......Just picked up Maya 4 too.....Such a crazy prog. The fur rules...I think I'll stick to 3ds Max4 though...less studying more creating!!!!

Where in the name of god did you get Maya from and not know how to use it??????????? You don't just buy Maya and not have a clue how to use it.

I think the majority on this board got warez. Maybe I'm wrong. The ones who got the original version often gets it through their work, and it's quite an investment for those who only wants to use it as a hobby.

I know that you can download Maya from one of the P2P clients.

Btw, I've heard Maya is releasing a free Personal edition for Win and Mac in february.

true, it's coming out for Mac OSX, didn't hear a thing about Windows and i don't really care. It's actually a personal demo with a crap load of features but you can't save, very similar to the C4D demo.

Gees i wonder how many people on this forum have pirated Photoshop or any other software????? Interesting to know actually. I'd say a huge bulk of the students do. I'm a student but i bought all my software fair and square, plus cracks and pirated software are usually made for Windows.

I thought the free version of maya could save, it just didn't save as the same file type as the commercial version of maya, so you couldn't use files between them. At least that's what I got out of the press release...

You could well be right. I read an article somewhere about 2 months ago when a 'leak' sprung which was pretty vague, i haven't read anything since. Doesn't really matter it's still gonna be a kick ass demo...
