I've been using Illustrator with no problems in the last weeks, but all of a sudden the shift key won't respond when trying to scale an object.
If I want to rotate an object, the shift key doesn't limit the rotation to multiples of 45 degrees either.
Same for dragging an object across a straight line.
It's like my shift key was broken, only it's not.

I tried resetting Illustrator with every modifier key pressed at launch, but this did not solve the problem.

Can anyone help me? ;_;

Thanks a lot!!

>Edit>Keyboard Shortcuts

Insure that the 1st dropdown menu says "Illustrator Factory Defaults" and the second says "tools"

Save and exit

Nope, not working : /

As well, I don't see in the tools keyboard shortcuts list anything for constrain proportions or temporarily invoking the hand with Space.

This is just too weird o_O

I had the same problem at the time I upgraded my Mac system software from Jaguar (10.3) to Tiger (10.4). Assuming you are using Illustrator CS2 v12 on a Mac, the issue can be resolved by downloading the update to 12.0.1 which can be found at http://www.versiontracker.com

Hope that helps
