I have two questions in regards to the same thing. I'm trying to figure out which fonts are used in two movie titles. The first one is Tristan & Isolde. I know that the typography are in Franklin Gothic Heavy but I'm not sure what font they used for the ampersand the "&" symbol. Does anyone have a good eye for this? I tried the identification font at MyFonts.com but it didn't read the ampersand. I would also like to know if anyone knows which font was used for Akeelah and the Bee. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers! |

Akeelah i think uses a helvetica thin. no idea on the ampersand, could be hand drawn too. |

Akeelah... May be Frutiger As for the Ampersand... Probably drawn or customised for the film. |

Fig & Rich, thanks for your replies. I thought Akeelah used Helvetica, but I'll be sure to check out Frutiger as well. As far as the ampersand, I haven't had any luck finding it. I mean I can find fonts that are similar, but the ampersand is different. So it must've been hand drawn for the film, but either way I'll keep looking just in case. Thanks again for your posts. Cheers! |
