Do you have a specific question? or do you want our general opinions? Personally, I like editing the tags and code versus using the layout types. I spend more time on the code side of DW than I do with the layout side. GoLive, have never used it. But I would be just as happy with a color coded text editor more than anything.

You have a point Charm.... I have been using Homesite at school for the last few months and it has been nice not to think about WYSIWYG software. Its actuallyt easier to construct web pages with thinking about them rather than relying on a probram to construct them.

Started out use netscape composer >> front page express/2000 >> cute html >> Dreamwaver

Used GoLive once or twice, it's only advantage over dreamwaver is compatibility with photopshop and other adobe softwares. Overall, I prefer DW for site building, a text pad for code editing :D

Sorry to desagree guys but dreamweaver is a DREAM for some...
its a very very deep aplication that integrates with just about every server language out there. I use dreamweaver MX and i must say is the best by far. I struggle with the artistit side od web building but dreamweaver gives you so many tools to make you more productive, server languages, css editor, behaibiours, layers, etc....all this seemlessly!!!

There is a difference between "relying on a program to contruct" a web page and not wasting my time to write code that a program can do much faster for me.
