Here, view this image: http://0ut.home.comcast.net/fadingstrokepath.png and read these instructions to accomplish what you're asking: 1. Your basic piece of track 2. Use the Pen Tool to place a single open ended path that follows your track. 3. Activate your paintbrush and choose a very basic brush with slightly soft edges. Then adjust the brush's width so that it's wider than your racetrack. 4. Now go to the custom brush settings, under OTHER DYNAMICS change the CONTROL of the Opacity jitter to FADE. Leave the slider set at 0%. And finally put a number in the box for the amount of fade. I used 2500 but most likely you're going to have to come back and fiddle with this number to get the right amount. 5. After that make sure you have black chosen as your foreground color. Then in the Paths palette right-click on your path and choose STROKE PATH. 6. In all likelyhood it won't be perfect the first try because you'll need to adjust the fading amount as I mentioned earlier. Simply undo, then go back and change the fade amount (small numbers will make it fade quickly and larger numbers will make it fade more slowly). Then try stroking the path again. Repeat until you like the results. |
 nice to see that every site has that 1 guy that acts a fool just for the fun of it
Ya gotta understand the history of that technique, mate... People have asked me for well over 3 years about how I did that image, and I have yet to explain. A couple people have come pretty close to figuring it out, but not using the techniques I used. So it wasn't just that I was denying you. I've denied EVERYBODY. It's not wise to give away ALL of one's secrets. :D |
