Wrong Forum

"hacker" is a common term used by the uninformed to represent someone who executes malicious commands or code to gain access to places he should normally not have.

My use of this term is because I do not know if you are of the side that knows the difference.

"cracker" is a person who does the bad things.

"hacker" is someone like me who codes programs meant to be used in a usefull manor.

oblivious, deker, I actually originally built my pc to play games, but lately, games have seemed unappealing to me, I have UT (great game), Quake3(pitiful), black and white (all hype), and even tribes 2 ( great game, need to get the bugs worked out first.. ), among other games.

but.. its not cool to talk like an idiot, its merely a sign of stupidity, in my opinion..

Well if I DO play a game, it's most likely a little shareware one that I got on a rainy day, or some shockwave game.

I just don't have the time for it. I bought Links 2000 this past winter because we were getting like 4 feet of snow per day, but I still couldn't find the time to play it...I've probably played 7 holes of golf since I bought the game.....

And when I go to my mom's, I sometimes play "Revolt", which is a fun game, but if the game isn't racing or sport's oriented, I probably won't even take the time to play it. Take that back, I like the games like Rainbow 6 and Rogue Spear, but they are the realistic ones....I don't like the "Magic and crap" ones like Quake and others.......

pronounce elite, it sounds like leet, it was then changed to l33t in hacker language then to 1337, but still today 1337 confuses people so if i was to say it at all i'd say elite or l33t.

People who think we video gamers need jobs or crap like that, are probably the ones that need a job otherwise you wouldnt have so much free time to come on here and post so much matt much less write up a freakin long ass speech, video games are fun, some are educational, and yes you can gain general knowledge and more from them, fun to play and all out cool. I think it's you who needs to get out more matt, try going to the mall, and buying a random game for the fun of it.

KidMeth, you really need to chill out and stop taking everything personally on this forum. Like with Torn, he was just trying to help you out, and so what if he posted two messages in a row. As long as they aren't saying the same thing, I wouldn't call that spamming. And just because Mattboy doesn't enjoy video games as much as other people, doesn't mean he is stupid and needs to get a job. Actually I think he didn't even have his current job back when this post was made, so he did have more time to post. But that doesn't even matter. Just because someone makes long posts, doesn't mean they're a loser and need to get a job. I probably make some of the longest posts on this forum, and I also have a job that I work at all day while I'm posting stuff on the forum. And I have time for video games. There is no reason to get all touchy about someone not liking videogames. And don't try to justify it by saying they are educational. I used to do that when I was 13 also, but there is no point. Because most of them aren't. No one has to justify Movies, which are not educational either. It's entertainment, not school. So if someone doesn't like playing them, then just leave it alone. Some people don't like reading books, or watching movies, or TV, or mountain biking...... etc. etc. It's all just an opinion.
