Can I get some comments on this design I made in a school project? It's only a screenshot (jpg) image og it, I haven't inserted it into HTML yet.. I'm thinking of having different skins, that you can choose from. This is mostly because I'm starting to get tired of making a new site for every new dsign I make ;) Instead I just have the same contents, and on the same site... Comments and tips are welcome! Please be constructive, don't just say "This is really ugly, it sucks" or "nice". Say why you like it/not like it :D thnx.. |

yeah that looks better, but just one thing you might want to thing about is making a high-res version, because im on 1280*1024 and its pretty small. maybe you could make one optimized for 800*600(for people with res from 640*480 - 1024*768) and another version optimized for 1280*1024 for people with higher resolutions? and then they could either pick or you could run a script. |

Well it's a good idea, but I don't think I'll do it now, because my monitor is "only" 17" and it's more work to make a design which is bigger than the screen... But...maybe ;)

I think that would be a major waste of your time. I run at 1280 x 1024, but I never have my browser maximized. It's usually closer 800 x 600 so I can have more than one thing open on a screen at a time. As for the actual graphics being too small to see, just make them bigger... like the text for example. |

Yeah I agree.... But I'm now working on another of these "skins". http://www.rognan.net/~thomlie/screen.jpg and http://www.rognan.net/~thomlie/screen2.jpg (when my FTP is finished uploading.. ;) ) |

when you actually turn this into an html page do you plan to extend those bars to the width of the screen or just let them be cut off and look slutty?

Well it looks like I can extend them to the right, so I'll probably do that.. And the background will maybe be like the grey colour at the top and the bottom (or black or something?) |
